The Sacred Heart Brothers Society Office at Geddalahalli, Bangalore, was established on February 8, 1978, by Rev. Br. G.S. Gnanamoney, SHJ. Under the leadership of Rev. Br. S. Irudayam SHJ, Rev. Br. M.A. Emmanuel SHJ carried out the task of the society. In the year 1989, Rev. Br. N.S. Jesudoss SHJ updated all the documents and renewed the society since it had not been functional for a long time. The Sacred Heart Brothers Society (SHB) is a non-profit social organization registered under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act. Since inception, the Society has worked with some of the poorest and neglected communities of Bangalore, facilitating improvements in the quality of the lives of the women, youth, and first-Generation children of Stone Quarry communities and other poor and needy people in nearby areas facing social barriers such as racial discrimination.

The service offered is irrespective of caste, creed, or religion. The Brothers of the Sacred Heart of Jesus are a registered body duly adhering to legal compliances under Indian law. It is registered as a Charitable Society under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act 1960 (Karnataka Act No. 17 of 1960). It has tax exemption under s. 12A from the Income Tax Department as well as permission from the FCRA department of the Ministry of Home Affairs for receipt of foreign donations. The Governing Body meets twice a year to review and guide the organization’s activities. There is a financial policy that governs the financial management system. Qualified and experienced staff handle the finances of the organization. Financial transactions are done as per standard accounting procedures, which are annually audited by a registered Chartered Accountant. Society fulfils legal compliance like filing annual returns to the Income Tax and Societies Registrar as well as submitting Form FC3 to the Home Ministry regularly and on time.

SOCIETY OFFICE RELOCATION & UPGRADE: 

To enhance administrative efficiency and accessibility, the society office was relocated to a more strategic location and upgraded with modern facilities. This initiative aimed at:

  • Optimizing Service Delivery: Ensuring faster and more effective communication between residents and management.
  • Enhancing Workspace Functionality: Creating a well-organized office environment that supports smooth administrative operations.
  • Integrating Technology: Implementing digital systems to streamline documentation, record-keeping, and grievance handling.

These improvements contribute to a more structured and responsive administrative framework, benefiting both residents and staff.
