Lingarajapuram community was originally a centre for social activities; it became a formal school in 1981, and Brothers’ community was established on June 28, 1998. Now, we have Infant Jesus Evening College, from 2014. Infant Jesus Evening College is a reputed institution run by The Sacred Heart Brothers Society of India. We have been rooted in various fields such as formal and technical education, children’s and women’s development initiatives, printing and publishing, health care, social action, etc., for more than 118 years. We have a chain of educational institutions all over India to educate the underprivileged and marginalized sections of society. Infant Jesus Evening College, Bengaluru, is another milestone of our educational service extended to the poor, especially the slum-dwellers and migrants who seek a preliminary right to education and equal opportunities in society.

Our college had its humble beginning in 2014 with only two UG Programs (B.A. and B.Com.) to identify the poor and underprivileged students in and around this thickly populated city who were forced to work as bonded labourers and to provide formal educational opportunities to the working professionals with various certification courses based on their areas of interest. Infant Jesus Evening College imparts graduate-level teaching at present and has ambitious plans to go further. Our aim is to create a platform where the pupils will exit our college with enlightened knowledge, wisdom, and prosperity to face the world fully equipped. We believe in equality, fraternity, brotherhood, and respect for women from a larger perspective.
Our vision is to make the students earn and learn, be independent, and be fully molded to deliver in all spheres of life. Today, with great concern on the part of the New Education Policy promulgated recently by the Education Department of the Govt. of Karnataka and the rapid development of the College, there is a dire need to add a few more programs, such as B.B.A. (UG) and M.Com. (PG), to retain the existing strength on campus and to support the passed-out students with financial and career assistance.
