St. Mary’s English High school has crossed over many great milestones since its establishment on 15th July 2005. We gratefully remember the founder Rev. Dr. A. Gnanapragasam SHJ for his zeal and enthusiasm to start this school for the downtrodden and helpless people. The seed that had been sown 18 years ago has now grown and reached great heights giving its fruits for so many children to secure their future. St. Mary’s English High School works towards providing quality education to the young people of the community since student achievement is its main goal.
The Mission is to respond to the Great Commission using the best available world class education in its quality and aimed at developing their personality. To continually empower our teachers and administrators in all aspects and strategies of teaching, mentoring and administration to become the best in their field and to involve the parents in the education of their children by establishing a cordial working relationship with them.
The Vision is to train, equip and educate the children by providing the best available education curriculum and instruction rooted in values, moulding them into resourceful, self-governed leaders, who confidently and passionately pursue their potential and become responsible global citizens and stewards in every area of thought and life.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

We concentrate more on the implementation of new programmes in teaching, testing and evaluation. A Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation, is implemented in our school for all classes. Our school has always remained a centre for a great number of activities at school, cluster, regional and national levels providing opportunities and exposure for children to a wide variety of invaluable learning experiences. The school is committed to the pursuit of knowledge at the service of Enrichment and Empowerment and instils in students a love for peaceful and harmonious living. Our school atmosphere is very conducive to nurture and nourish the children’s intrinsic capabilities. The team of our devoted teachers works from dawn to dusk balancing their style of teaching which caters to the need of both gifted children as well as slow learners.

Professional ongoing learning of the staff is a key for quality teaching and learning process at St. Mary’s English High School as it is the core of all that we do. This has ensured the development of skills, knowledge and understanding of the curriculum and current trends in teaching and learning. The staff participated in a variety of Professional learning courses in the school.
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
To promote the competitive spirit and to bring out the talent of the students, they are encouraged to participate in various co-curricular activities. Competitions like, Drawing and Painting, Essay Writing, Singing, Recitation, Elocution, Dance, Fancy Dress, Spell Bee, Mono Acting and Mimicry, Dramas, Painting, Paper Collage, Rangoli etc. were conducted during the course of the year. Developing a spirit of positive competition among the students is very much needed. Talent day was conducted in the month of August and students were given opportunities to take part in various competitions. Some of the competitions were Handwriting, Reading, Drawing and Painting, Essay Writing, Speeches, etc. Students are also given opportunities to take part in inter-school competitions. Students from class VI to VIII participated in the interschool science competition conducted by Springer Nature in association with the Indian Institute of Technology. It was a part of the Macmillan Budding Scientist Award.
SPORTS AND GAMES EVENTS
Strenuous exercise and interest in games is an outlet for the vigour of youth. Ample opportunities are provided to our children to play and prove their mettle in various sports and games at school, cluster, regional and national level competitions. Sports play a vital role in the students physical and mental development. Sports and games are a part of the different clubs and activities of the school. The students are continuously trained in march past and drill displays where they perform them during National Celebrations and Annual School Sports Day. Games and physical training are a part of the regular class time table. The School Band needs to be appreciated for their beautiful performances when it is needed.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
To make our students to be involved in extracurricular activities we provide them with ample facilities in various fields like Karate, Band, Music, Dance, Spoken English and Yoga.
