The vision of the Congregation is “The formation of a Just Society where fraternity and solidarity are realized based on the values of the Sacred Heart of Jesus”. The Congregation works with the poor and marginalized, vulnerable communities to bring about Sustainable Social Change. In 2017, the 14th General Chapter of the Congregation called the Brothers “To pilgrim with the marginalized and re-invent themselves in the God of Today”. In the vision of its Founder, the Brothers dedicate themselves to the “Greater Glory of God” and the good of all humanity, in collaboration with those who share its values, including lay persons.
Rev. Fr. Adrian Caussanel SJ, the Founder of the Congregation, knew that education held the key to empowerment. From the very beginning, the Sacred Heart Brothers carried out this work of educating and evangelizing in schools and parishes. To the present day, from primary schools to colleges and technical institutions, the educational ministry continues to be one of the pillars of the Congregation’s work. To their credit, the Brothers are successfully running 76 formal schools, colleges, and childcare centres. Mostly, they serve the rural poor and socially neglected communities, such as Dalits, Tribals, women, and Most Backward communities, with greater needs.
